The British School of Bucharest opened in August 2000 in response to a demand in Bucharest for a high quality internationally recognized education.

The aim of the British School of Bucharest is to provide to children with the education and social skills needed for an ever changing world. The school has shown sustained growth since opening. Small class sizes complemented by additional educational support allow for a positive learning environment. The curriculum of the school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales. All the core subjects are covered. English as an additional language and other educational support are offered as appropriate. It is the policy of the British School of Bucharest to protect the privacy of its pupils when using photographs on its website. Care is taken to ensure that students cannot be identified or contacted as a result of their image being used. Permission to use their images for publicity purposes, including the website, is sought when children join the school.
